ISBN, LCCN and Bar Code

ISBN means:

ISBN is the initialism for the International Standard Book Number. The ISBN is a unique number that identifies books and related products. ISBN’s are internationally published. The hardcover version of your book must have a separate ISBN from the paperback version. If you submitted a revised version after publication, you need to use a new ISBN rather than the ISBN you used in the earlier version. If you produce an audio version of your work, this too needs a different ISBN
.

Atypical Publishing, LLC. and any other US resident publisher who publishes titles in the US obtains ISBN’s from:

R. R. Bowker (U.S. ISBN Agency), 630 Central Ave., New Providence, NJ 07974-1154

Phone: (877) 310-7333

Email: info@bowker.com

LCCN means:

LCCN is the initialism for the Library of Congress Catalog Card Number. The LCCN is a number which is assigned by the Library of Congress to uniquely identify each book in its cataloged collections. The LCCN is utilized by librarians to find a specific record in the national databases and to order catalog cards from the Library of Congress or from commercial suppliers. The Library of Congress assigns this unique number during the cataloging process.

Barcode means:

A barcode is the code we see every day at the grocery store, pharmacy, or even the bookstore. Look at the book cover on any book at your local bookstore and you will discover a barcode.  The barcode is technically a series of vertical bars of varying widths. Each digit from 0 through 9 is represented by different patterns of these vertical lines which can be read by a scanner. Publishers generally include the ISBN in the barcode. This barcode allows bookstores to easily track sales and update book prices. At Atypical Publishing, we include this barcode on every book so it is ready to be sold to the bookstore market.
